Error message: "You have been logged on with a temporary profile"
"You cannot access your files and files created in this profile will be deleted when you log off. To fix this, log off and try logging on later. Please see the event log for details or contact your system administrator

Solution for Windows 7: The old profile cannot be easily fixed but would still load correctly in safe mode. It is easier to create a new profile where you would copy the old one.
Steps:
1. Create a new account using the old/temporary
2. Log off and log on to the new profile (the new profile would be created after first log on)
3. Shutdown and restart in safe mode.
4. Log on to old profile. You’ll notice your desktop is in its original settings.
5. Go to: C:>Users> Old Profile Name
6. Show hidden files
7. Copy all folders
8. Paste in C:>Users> New Profile Name
9. Select “Merge folder” or “copy and replace” if prompted.
10. Restart in Normal Mode.
11. Log on to New account
12. Your new account would contain the same libraries and retain most of the settings from the old account. Just reconfigure your apps, email client, music player etc. as if it were your first use.
13. Your new account would not lose the settings etc. after logging off.
14. Delete the old profile (or not).
15. Done.
